Back Alley Barbell – Membership Waiver and Code of Conduct
By signing this agreement, the Member (“Client”) acknowledges and agrees to the following terms and conditions regarding the use of Back Alley Barbell’s (“the Gym”) facilities, equipment, and services:
Code of Conduct
The Client agrees to adhere to all rules and regulations currently in effect and any that may be implemented by the Gym in the future. The Gym reserves the right to revoke access, suspend, or cancel any membership or session pack without refund if the Client violates these rules, causes disturbance, behaves inappropriately toward staff or other members, or engages in fraudulent or unethical conduct.
The Client agrees to:
Respect the rights and privileges of all members and staff while training.
Unload all weights and return plates to their proper storage racks after use.
Rerack dumbbells and barbells in designated areas.
Follow all posted signage and instructions on equipment usage.
Seek assistance from staff or coaches if unsure how to use equipment safely.
Drop barbells only on designated lifting platforms.
Dispose of trash in appropriate receptacles.
Treat all members and staff with courtesy and respect at all times.
Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability
The Client understands that participation in physical exercise, including the use of weights, resistance machines, cardio equipment, and other fitness-related apparatus, involves inherent risks of injury, whether caused by the Client or others.
The Client acknowledges that:
Any exercise program undertaken at the Gym is at the Client’s sole risk.
Guidance or advice provided by Gym staff, employees, or independent trainers is not a substitute for personal responsibility or professional medical advice.
The Client is solely responsible for selecting exercises, equipment, and intensity levels.
The Gym is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage to the Client’s person or property arising from the use of the Gym, its facilities, services, or parking areas.
The Client assumes full responsibility for the safekeeping of personal belongings brought onto the premises. The Gym is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property, including vehicles or items left in vehicles.
Indemnification and Release
The Client hereby releases, discharges, and agrees to hold harmless the Gym, its owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, demands, actions, damages, or causes of action arising out of or in connection with:
Personal injury (including death) or property damage sustained in or around the Gym.
Use or misuse of equipment or facilities.
Participation in any classes, workshops, events, or training sessions, whether supervised or unsupervised.
This waiver applies to the Client, their heirs, legal representatives, executors, administrators, and assigns.
By signing below, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms above.
